Maple
Syrup Making Demonstration
Using
“home style” methods, we will show you how to tap the trees, collect and boil
down the sap and make it table ready. You will learn everything you need to
know so you can make your own maple syrup at home.
The first half will be in
the nature center and the second will be outside and will conclude with a
tasting. The kids are advised to go to the bathroom beforehand and to
dress for the cold weather. The center has a little heat and there is no
running water and 1 port-a-john outside.

per person: We will need your $10 tour fee. FOR BOTH ADULTS and KIDS.
IE: Ben and I will need to pay $20.

Carpooling:
We will be carpooling to the event. Please let me know if you can drive.

Permit: As your leader, we will need your information
for our tour permit (even if you are not carpooling in February). The following
list can be printed and filled out. Please fill it out for both parents and all

Pizza & Board Game
Den Meeting!
· This Den meeting is for the entire family! Please bring siblings.
· For this den meeting, I will need a few things:
o Please have your scouts & siblings bring their favorite quick game. Colin Cambest has declared WAR on me. I hear that he is pretty good.
o Please bring some drinks to share. I will be bringing some fruit punch and iced tea. Kids like lemonade, soda, and water.
o I will be bringing plates, cups and napkins.
o I need the count by Monday!

Reminder Den Meeting Tomorrow: We
will be meeting tomorrow at St.Catherines.

$5 reservation fee for Resident (Overnight) Camp. We are trying to reserve tent sites for our

Scout account balances are available. I have the scout account
balances from the popcorn sale available for your review. These accounts are
from the popcorn sales and can be used
for resident camp and day camp fees.

January Tour: Skating @ NorthPark.
Bring the family to our Den’s Skating party on Jan 30, @ 11-2PM. Entry $3
kids $5 adults. Skates $2. Lessons are also being arranged.

Jan 2010: Den News Resident Camp Update!
· Resident (Overnight) Camp is 8/5/10. I am sorry that we could not pick a date that works for everyone, but we tried our best with everyone’s schedule
·
For parents and scouts going, I
NEED $5 per person by the next den meeting to reserve our site. I
would highly recommend that a parent accompany your scout for this event until
we get a couple of these under our belt.
· The camp will be a three day – two night camp. It will be at Camp Independence down near Nemacolin Woods. More information will be provided as time goes on.
· Kids can use the “account” money to pay for camp.

You only need to do Section A and 4 other sections to complete the task. However, I would suggest doing the other ones. Ben and I had a great conversation when doing this event.
